Reflection upon self

Lubaina Rajbhoy is an artist based in the northern areas of Pakistan but originally from the Southern coastal city of Karachi. Her inner inhibitions of an idea of freedom and a space to feel free in, aspired her ventures on many treks and expeditions amidst the mountains-
to look for feelings
                   that she felt
                                                  were lost

Rajhboy’s art floats around reminiscing memories
from the beginning of time
She visually scrambles and collates
unworldly memories
of places we may have been to
but cannot recall;
of the several beings
we perhaps were,
before we arrived as humans;
and the transformation
of our consciousness
into a bodily format

Rajbhoy currently teaches Design Thinking and Photography at National College of Arts (NCA-Rawalpindi), alongside heading the Visual Art department at Vox Asia Productions- an international publishing company in Islamabad, Pakistan
Lubaina’s recent campaign-design for Aurat March Islamabad and gender-based campaigns for Heinrich Boell Stiftung borders with her personal inhibitions of freedom, as an individual and for society as whole

Lubaina has been featured on AFP, the BBC, France24 and Elle Italy
